FMG Suite has been actively producing pre-written “timely” emails for advisors to use in their client communications. With our current workflows, these emails require compliance approval every single time they are sent by a user. This is true whether the users edit these emails or not. No matter what, these emails go through compliance whenever they are used.
So our increase in timely emails in our Content Library has also resulted in an uptick of cases for compliance officers. And, yes, we expect this trend to continue with the rollout of the Weekly Market Insights!
We want to help lighten this workload for Compliance Officers and help our users get their emails delivered ASAP, so we are rolling out Bulk Email Approval.
How does it work?

This new tool gives compliance officers a way to approve multiple cases at a time. These are cases for our FMG Suite-created emails, where the user did not edit the original email.
Here’s the workflow:
- A user accesses an email from the Content Library.
- They will decide whether or not to edit the email.
- If they choose to edit the email, that email/case falls out of this workflow. Edited emails will need to be reviewed/approved just as they are today - on an individual, case-by-case basis.
- If they choose NOT to edit the email, then that email/case is part of this workflow.
- When a Compliance Officer goes to review these “unedited email” cases, if there are other pending cases with the same “unedited email,” we will approve those at the same time!
- No, we will not do this automatically. We will present the Compliance Officer with this option!
What’s next?
We are going to add another option to this new workflow that will allow compliance officers to approve not only the current pending cases, but also to approve the email for future use! If approved for future use, all users in that Program will be able to send this email as-is without an additional compliance step. We’ll be working on this in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
FAQ
Is this feature available to ALL compliance officers? Yes!
Will this feature allow a compliance officer to approve cases that aren’t in their queue? Nope! We will only approve emails in the officer’s queue. Any other identical/unedited emails would need to be reviewed/approved by the appropriate compliance officer.
What changes will advisors see? Will they still see these approvals in their Daily Digest? Other than getting their emails out more quickly - users shouldn’t see much change. They will still see these approvals logged in their admin (in the “Compliance” section) and in their Daily Digest emails. One change they will see in their admin: now, when a user accesses an agency-created email from the Content Library, they will land on the email builder with this screen:
